ABBF Hosts Post-Event Get-Together in Dhaka Following Ethiopia 2025 Summit
The Africa Bangladesh Business Forum (ABBF) recently hosted a post-event get-together in Dhaka with participants of the Africa Bangladesh Trade Show & Business Summit | Ethiopia 2025, reaffirming its commitment to sustained engagement and long-term relationship building beyond international trade missions.
The Ethiopia summit, held on 12–13 November 2025, was jointly organized with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Ethiopia, marking a significant milestone in strengthening institutional and diplomatic collaboration to advance Africa–Bangladesh trade relations. The two-day event attracted over 1,000 business visitors, including manufacturers, exporters, investors, logistics providers, and sector specialists from both regions—highlighting growing interest in cross-border trade opportunities between Bangladesh and African markets.
From Momentum to Meaningful Outcomes
Building on the strong momentum of the Ethiopia summit, the Dhaka get-together brought together exhibitors, partners, and key stakeholders who had actively participated in Addis Ababa. The session served as a platform to reconnect, exchange feedback, review key outcomes, and identify concrete next steps to convert discussions and leads into sustainable commercial partnerships.



Distinguished Participation and Strategic Insights
The program was graced by Mohammad Hassan Arif, Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh, as Chief Guest. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of continuity after international trade missions, noting that structured post-event engagement is essential to translating exposure into exports, investments, and long-term market penetration for Bangladeshi companies in Africa.
Also joining as Special Guest was Brigadier General GM Shariful Islam, Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Ethiopia. He shared insights on trade diplomacy and bilateral cooperation, underscoring Ethiopia’s strategic role as a gateway to East Africa and reaffirming the Embassy’s support for initiatives that deepen economic ties between Bangladesh and African nations.
The discussion was further enriched by Rashed Mahmud, Group Director and CEO of Dipon Group, who highlighted the private sector’s role in sustaining cross-border partnerships. He stressed the need for structured follow-ups, trust-based relationships, and sector-specific collaboration to unlock the full potential of Africa–Bangladesh trade.

Broad Industry Participation
The Ethiopia 2025 summit recorded strong participation across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, logistics, ICT, consumer goods, and industrial production. Participating organizations included Sardar Global Trading Co. Ltd., Conveyor Logistics Limited, Standard Finis Oil Company, Zihan Plastic Industries, Bronson Laboratories (BD), Neptune Laboratories Ltd., Oriental Laboratories Ltd., Dipon Consultancy Services, DG InfoTech, Immense Trading House Ltd., BICO Jute Fibres, Dynamic Solution Innovators Ltd., Fortune Shoes Ltd., and Aman Plastic Toys Industries, among others.

A special message from the ABBF President reiterated the Forum’s commitment to ensuring that international trade events translate into measurable outcomes. The message emphasized continuity, structured engagement, and institutional collaboration as core pillars of ABBF’s approach—positioning the Forum as a long-term bridge between African and Bangladeshi businesses, policymakers, and trade institutions.

Held on 12 January 2026 at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Exhibition Centre (Big Wave), the post-event get-together demonstrated ABBF’s strategic focus on follow-through and impact. By creating spaces for reflection, alignment, and forward planning, ABBF continues to ensure that its trade missions and summits deliver lasting value—fostering sustainable partnerships, expanding market access, and driving shared economic growth between Africa and Bangladesh.
